The Outer Banks is also a boater’s paradise with the several marinas located on the Outer Banks. Two major marinas in that area are Oregon Inlet Fishing Center and Pirates Cove Marina. Pirates Cove Marina located on Roanoke Island is the perfect launching point for charter fishing trips to the Gulf Stream. Oregon Inlet Fishing Center located on the northern end of Hatteras Island also lends itself to immediate access to the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The winds on the Outer Banks are perfect for sailing and the calm waters of the sound make for perfect conditions for boaters as well!

The Outer Banks is an angler’s dream! Residents enjoy Fall fishing because of the mild temperatures and warm waters. The abundance of species of fish makes fishing the area a true delight! Outer Banks weather can’t be beat. The mild temperatures in the shoulder season, and warm weather of the summer makes the Outer Banks a great place to live, no matter the time of year!

The Outer Banks offers several great communities that either have their own boat docks, or in close proximity to one.
